if i import a car from japan what changes do i need to carry out to make it road worthy in the uk?

the car i drive is a nissan 350z roadster. It has a HKS cold air intake and a exedy stage 2 clutch.

I need to know what kinds of emissions mods and saftey mods need to be made before I can register a car in California.

First of all, I am thinking about getting a 1990-94 Miata NA/NB.
I was wondering if cars can drift good without any modifications, if not what kind of modifications am I looking for to having a good drifting car.
Can all cars drift, does it have to be a specific type of drive (ex.AWD, RWD, FWD)? [...]
